Talt is an experienced and passionate commercial lawyer, with years of experience advising businesses of all sizes and industries across Australia.

He takes a creative approach to problem solving but encourages clients to take steps that prevent problems arising in the first place. Talt is highly motivated by seeing his commercial clients position themselves for long term success. As a commercial lawyer, he always considers the commerciality of the legal services he provides.

Before joining Nine Dots Legal, Talt specialised in assisting startups and technology companies, giving him insights into future industries and the unique legal and commercial challenges therein.

Talt’s experience includes:

  • Equity structuring, including implementing equity arrangements such as ESOPs, vesting arrangements, and shareholder agreements;
  • Capital raising through priced equity rounds, SAFEs, and convertible notes;
  • Business acquisitions, including both share sale and asset sale transactions;
  • Intellectual property identification, protection, and commercialisation;
  • Dispute resolution through negotiation and mediation;
  • Navigating privacy and data handling requirements, including compliance and best practice;
  • Employment law, including onboarding, incentivising and Fair Work disputes;
  • Industry specific advice across health, financial services, energy and environmental, education, food supply, ecommerce, and more;
  • Intracompany disputes, including shareholder and director disputes;
  • Contract drafting for joint ventures, affiliate arrangements, and similar commercial transactions;
  • Structuring and implementing international commercial arrangements.

Qualifications

Talt has an honours degree in law and a bachelor degree in media and communications from Queensland University of Technology.

Talt is also a member of the Law Institute of Victoria
